Daily Paintings and "Irons in the Fire"
This is stuff from the end of December and early January. Some are irons in the fire, some brand new and some are salvaged from paintings that didn't turn out in previous attempts, while others are experiments and testing palettes.
This is an experiment, and so far
I am uncomfortable posting unfinished work and work that was done as play or that was not intended for public display.

The Bridge looking North
16x20", acrylic on board - added yellows and greens to underpainting

High Bluff Trail
36x36", acrylic on canvas underpainting for fall colors
High Pasture
24x36" acrylic on canvas - will rework overly green grass
Tallulah
24x36 - underpainting of similar composition as below, but split shadowed trees with one bright tree on left.

Hickory Nut Mtn.
30x40", oil on canvas

This is salvaged from an overworked canvas. I am never sure whether to give up or persisit and make something work. I have on occasion persisted to no avail so it was sweet relief to have this "come out" with just a small amount of work.

Chattooga Branch, b
11x14", oil on board

One of 3 of same spot, same size. It was started as a lesson and I just finished it. A more detailed version is at Burton Gallery.

Spring Contraluce
16x20", acrylic and sand
Another salvage: it was like this before.
Most of the new work was added on the right side

Old Red, Originial
11x14", acrylic on board

One of 2, foreground water still unresolved

Rainbow tree
11x14", oil and sand on board - free play which turned out exactly like the view out my window

Afternoon on the pond
11x14", oil on board

Free play with a knife
